Hephaestus defends Hera from Zeus’s abuse a couple of times, and Hera praises him in the Iliad and Dialogues of the gods, So I don’t really understand ppl writing them like they hate each other. Yes Hera is a terrible mom, yes their relationship is a mess but I don’t think they outright hate each other, it’s more complicated (and interesting) than that.

I feel like I’ve said this before, but I HATE it when people get rid of the relationship between two characters just because they don’t ship them romantically, like wtf are people not allowed to have close platonic relationships???

I see this a lot with male and female duos, like if a guy and girl are incredibly close, maybe canon wants them to be together but the fandom prefers a gay ship (completely valid), but in doing so they just ignore all the canon connections that guy and girl have with each other, just throw it away. Hell, I’ve even seen canon do this (Overwatch I’m looking at you with Genji and Mercy, tho to be fair that barely has a canon at this point)

Note to anyone making any content: do not get rid of canon connections just because you ship something else!!! Don’t throw away platonic relationships, even if you don’t wanna write about it or make content for it don’t ignore it, don’t mischaracterize them by making one character “get in the way of a ship,” and don’t always assume that every art of two people standing next to each other is ship art, if you’re really clutching your pearls at the idea of a ship you don’t like check the tags, most people tag ships if present (or at least they should)

Platonic relationships are valid!! They’re good!!! Don’t throw them away because you like other romantic pairings!!! You can still like the romantic ships, but the members of the ship are still allowed to have close relationships outside of it!!! People are allowed to have close friends and family!! People’s lives exist outside of their romantic interest!!!

I've noticed that your Stanley doesn't have another eye? It's cool tbh but is there some kinda lore or whatnot that connects it?

I’ve gotten an ask about this before but I’ll answer this one too :3

Yeah it’s intentional, I (almost) always draw him with just one eye, but there isn’t really a lore reason for it.

In 2022 when I first started drawing tsp I characterized Stanley’s lack of identity and speech by only drawing him with one eye —To make him more of a blank slate nobody yk?— But as I started drawing him more and more I decided to give him his mouth back so he could express emotions more. (Basically because it was easier to draw)

But maybe in the context of the post-parable au it could have meaning. He, and anyone else, sees his second eye, while the viewer is an outlier. It could be a visual indicator to show that Stanley, despite his average looks, is not fully human. Because he wasn’t fully human in the parable, why would he suddenly be now?

More subtly, The Narrator also has inhuman traits hidden in him that also serve as a indicator that he is not of this world. Those might be revealed later though
